DJ Dan is, well, uh, you guessed it, a DJ. But that isn't everything this Olympia, Washington based dude does. When he's not behind the wheels of steel, he's producing bumpin' dance tracks and posing in blue button-downs.

Saturday Night Fever 25

Back in 1990, Seal released his first single with Adamski. The track, "Killer," was his first huge hit, way before he dropped "Kiss from a Rose." Today we have a remix of Seal's first hot single from Matt Samuels & Abigail Bailey.

Not only did they cover "Killer," they have several remixes on the release, including: Dan Mckie, George Carrasco, Nathan C & Harry Brown, and Roy McLaren. They turned Adamski's down-tempo track into reverberated dance floor anthem. If you dig it, pick up your copy on Beatport.

Saturday Night Fever 24

Mike Balance started his career as a DJ at the age of 16, and has gone a long way since. Today, the LA based DJ's tracks are landing top ten spots on Beatport.com and DanceRecords.com.

Saturday Night Fever 23: Poka

I was really lucky to stumble upon Galaxy Comète Records, a label working hard to revive disco-house. Taking heavy influence from the solo works of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk, Galaxy has several EPs available for free download.

Each artist on their roster samples old disco and funk records, laces them with hard-hitting drums, and filters them to life. Tonight's track is from Poka, a force to be reckoned with in the movement to revive french house. If you dig tonight's bit, click to download Poka's Blast From The Past EP.

Saturday Night Fever 22

N.A.S.A. is the collaboration of Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon. These dudes are not known for their production work, but rather for the star-studded line-up on their debut release The Spirit of Apollo. This includes Del The Funkee Homosapien, DJ Qbert, George Clinton, RZA, Ghostface Killah, M.I.A., Spank Rock, and Santigold to name a few.

Tonight's track is a remix of "Whachadoin?" by Villans. They have been making intense dance tracks for a while now, and this one doesn't disappoint. Check out N.A.S.A. on RCRD LBL for another hot track.

Saturday Night Fever 21

Tonight's bit is from Germany-based Cygnus X. The group was originally the collaboration of Matthias Hoffman and Ralf Hildenbeutel, but now Matthias is the only member.

They are famous for "The Orange Theme" which is quoted as being "one of the most memorable trance songs." To give you a taste of what The Orange Theme is, we're throwing a flashy remix in your direction. This remix sounds like something Tiesto would have made in the early days. You remember Nyana, right?

Tonight we have a banger from the creative minds of Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Laidback Luke.

Saturday Night Fever 19: 808 State

Taking their name from the Roland TR 808 drum machine and the state-of-mind that they shared, 808 State recorded legendary tracks that Aphex Twin and Autechre cite as being highly influential to their music.

(Yes, that is Björk in the middle). Tonight we have three promo-certified tracks to share. Each one represents 808's style with funky drum-machine grooves, animal sounds, and pungent melodies.

Saturday Night Fever 18: Sounderground Records

Sounderground Records is a fairly big label, representing producers as artists and remixers. They've been around since 2006, and we dig their electronic disco-esq vibe.

We have two down-tempo ambient dance tracks for you tonight. The first one is from Germany-based Stefan Tretau, and the second is from Parisian DJ Art Bleek. These two tracks are filled with drum machine goodness and are drenched in glorious reverb. We think they are the perfect jams for jump-starting your Saturday night.

Saturday Night Fever 17: Run-D.M.C.

Most rap/hip-hop remixes I've heard are straight-up awful. Producers increase the speed of the MC's flows to create an awkward dance track.

Without ruining Run D.M.C.'s "Hard Times," Victor Imbres mixes a roving dance beat over their legendary rhymes. It is filled with a catchy jumping bass line that is brought to life with hot Latin percussion. Sign up for Victor's mailing list to receive news on his upcoming jams.

In 1989, two Israelis banded together to form Astral Projection. These dudes churn out epic psychedelic-dance tracks, and have produced a grand total of 9 albums.

"Nilaya" demonstrates the group's abilities with a nine minute adventure of fast-paced dance music. For kicks, we added the remix.

Saturday Night Fever 14

This is our last SNF for '08 and we're excited to release a track from another underground EDM producer.

Adriano Dodici hails from Italy (as if the name didn't give it away) and has been DJing since 1982. "The West Side" is a slowly escalating clip that dumps into vocals that chant the song's title. It isn't really intense, and makes for a great down-tempo, chill-friendly, dance track.

Now that you've shoveled all of that fresh snow, here is some dance music to fire you up.

I'm throwing two deep house dishes in your direction, one from mix-master p8, and another from trance-titan Niklas.

"Nadir" by p8 is a simple yet effective track. No complex melodies or harmonies, in fact, it is the same not played over and over. This may sound dull, but he compensates with tons of gooey fx builds. Its like swimming in an ocean of reverb. "Cocoon" is a tad different, heard by Niklas' thick pads and snare-driven drops. This track is similar to the first by using space-like ambiance.

The juice behind tonight's SNF is Cliff Coenraad, a mixin' fixin' dj/producer from Holland.

"Modulate" is a traditional dance track of epic proportions. Cliff layers screams, sweeps, and electronic eruptions of sound to assist you in getting your dance on. We think it's dope how he builds with filtered 90's synths, yet he infuses 2008 production techniques to keep things fresh and exciting. But don't take our word for it...

On top of that, we're handing you his one-hour monthly mix for December, a perfect way to jump-start your Saturday night.

Changing pace from our usual techno/trance/house track, we're throwing you some disco-funk heat from Emil & Friends.

This jam rocks four tight features we dig: a sizzlin' bass line, lush vocals, dripping guitar licks, and boogeiful disco drums. It's locked on repeat as I write this, and we expect you to do the same. With a title of "Downed Economy" it's only right that we give it away for free, courtesy of Sweet Touch Records. Saturday Night Fever 10

After a week packed with college, work, family, turkey, and snowboarding, I'm pretty beat. Tonight's snf sums up this week, with two flavorful drum & bass tracks.

Keeping to our usual theme of showcasing underground artists, we have Koritsa & ATP from Golden Orb Records. The label strictly carries drum & bass tunes, providing a home for about 7 artists. If you like what you hear, head over to their Beatport page and snag a few tracks.

The two clips below are ably crafted sound-scapes of pure and simple drum & bass. They are surprisingly relaxing considering the sky-high tempos of strongly populated drum-programming, never fostering a dull moment. For those fans of ambient music, these two connect the genres, and leave you begging for more.

It's Saturday night, and you know what that means, a brand new bumpin-thumpin' dance track!

This clip is from another underexposed artist, DJ Bat. It comes in slow with a simple, chill-inducing, choral intro. Just as you get memorized by the fitting combo of piano & bells, he drops a 10-ton riff, and takes the kick drum out of it's cage. Soon enough, my little dorm room in Brooklyn was turned into an European night club (wouldn't be the first time). I can almost guarantee this will happen if you crank this addicting trancer-dancer.

Saturday Night Fever 8

We're kickin' it old school tonight, with two cuts of four-to-the-floor goodness from the 90's. (Is it safe to call the 90's old school?)

Tonight's first feature is from Detroit Techno legend, Jeff Mills. His music might sound elementary, but for those who don't know, he influenced many artists. One of them being Daft Punk. "Late Night" is complete drum machine madness, alongside smatterings of electronic-noises. Most of his stuff is like this track, so if you get into it, hunt down one of his vinyls.

The second bit is from German producer and label owner, DJ Hell. "Copa" samples Barry Manilow's Copacabana, which is pretty easy to hear. This one is fun and simple - and a great intro track for those of you who haven't heard of him.

Saturday Night Fever 7: Toby Emerson

In honor of his awesomeness, tonight's Saturday Night Fever is dedicated to the one and only, Toby Emerson.

For those of you who don't know him, Toby is simply put, a trance factory. He cranks out masterpiece after masterpiece of melodically-infused dance tracks. This ample variety of sound and harmony makes his music stand out from other producers; to the point where you can listen to a clip and know "Toby made this."

Tonight's Toby jam, given to us by him personally, is titled "Liquify". It's a great demonstration of his talent; clearly heard as the song takes sharp and deep turns. He quickly introduces new melodies which keep this song exciting and intriguing. Never a dull moment. So close your eyes, tilt your head back, and submerge into the world of Toby Emerson.
